Hey guys, I hope you've had a very nice holiday with warm teas and lots of Christmas presents and awesome New Year's Eve parties :D :snowflake: How is everyone doing? What are you up to?

I just wanted to write about two important things,

I'm not the kind of person who likes making new year's resolutions, because I don't think this day is more special than any other given day and you don't need a new year to keep a promise, eh? however, this year I made one resolution... and I'm quite serious about it. It is that starting from now, I will upload at least one drawing to Deviantart a week. :D (I allow myself not to fulfill that completely to the extent that there might be pieces of artworks that require more time than a week to finish... I'm probably not going to upload a 4-5 page comic every week, eh) so... by one piece of artwork i mean the equivalent of one A4 sheet, which may or may not be coloured.

I'm very determined on improving my art skills, perhaps more so than ever. Wish me inspiration to keep my promise!

The second thing is that I made a tumblr

:spotlight-left: www.tumblr.com/blog/felroki :spotlight-right:

I use it as sort of an artistic blog, weaved together with some personal stuff. if you are interested in what i draw and paint and stitch, feel free to stalk me. i will post there much more frequently than to my Deviantart page. This page will be reserved for my better creations only.  :strip:

I hope you all have a fantastic 2012 (I sure am very excited about this year!) :boogie: :hug:

Merry christmas to you all my dear friends and watchers! I hope you'll have a great time with lots of cakes and presents!

I almost forgot about this old "tradition" i had, the journal with my wishlist this year. But it's just the last moment to do so!

:star: I've wanted a tablet for a ridiculously long time now. I could just never collect so much money that i could buy one, i always needed the money for soething else... but this time its for real. I have to face it, if i want to be a good artist, a tablet is quite essential in our age-
:star: Something trivial, but a hot sandwich maker would be great... I used to eat hot sandwiches for breakfast when i still lived at home, and before ours broke. I miss them a lot.
:star: Dimmu Borgir's newest album... I'm going to buy that as soon as I can. They made such a great impression on me at the concert! :la:
:star: A 2011 calendar(You know that notebook kind of calendar you can carry around. I actually bought that on my birthday already)
:star: I still don't have a headset, and perhaps i could use a pair. With a microphone preferably. I miss the voice of my sweetie! :heart: and i should seriously stop making them huge phone bills...
:star: The order of a Norwegian-English dictionary is already in progress :dummy:

News, there aren't too many as far as my life goes. i've just recently turned 21, therefore I am now legal in all countries of the world :D :D (those that i know of that is) :P
I'm working on several art pieces simultaneously at the moment. I have been feeling very productive(and experimental) but the exam period cut my efforts in a half; i have many unfinished pieces in progress at the moment, but I dont know when I can find the time to finish them. It might take some time. Until that, i might dig up my computer for a few unsubmitted pieces, to keep my deviantart peeps updated.

KoRn

6 min read
Just wanted to let the world know that 11 days ago, first time after 8 years, I've seen my favourite band live.

Should I even start on the story of this amazing, incredible, godlike night? If I begin now, three weeks from now I'll still be writing the same journal... (besides, those people who might be interested in my journal were either there with me, or I already told them... i'm not even writing this for anyone to read- only for the sake of the record...) It was the day when you imagine how perfect things can go, but real live surpasses your imagination. This day was three times as much as I ever dreamed.

First of all, I could share the experience with my loved one which just doubled all the fun. All I wanted is to see those guys just once so close that I can see their faces, for 2 minutes only- what really happened is that we ended up in the first row, about a step away from the stage, and Jonathan Davis was singing RIGHT in front of us during about half of the concert (we were a bit to the left from the center, and he kept swinging from left to right around the front of the stage- as a result, we were literally screaming at his feet):worship:

Fieldy was a bit to the left of us, and so close to us that at some point I thought he would come down to us from the stage. He kept eye contact with the fans all the time, though, and stood still when we wanted to take a photo- not only the press photographers, I mean, but just us regular fans as well. He definitely enjoyed the love of the crowd.

I also have to add, that this was the first concert of my life. (When KoRn came to my country for the first time and I couldn't go there, because I was too young-had noone to go with-had no money etc. I made an oath that the first band or musician I will hear live will be KoRn. I take pride in the fact that I kept my oath for years until the day of the concert. I took it very seriously.)

And we got a pick from Munky... :heart:

So then again, to cut the long story short... this was the best day of my life that I've ever had and will have in the next few years. Thank you KoRn. Thank you Ray, Fieldy, Munky, Jonathan. Thank you, thank you all. I'm not the same person as before.

:strip:

Other than that, I'm going to Denmark the day after tomorrow and for the first time of my life, I'm going to fly. Everybody said that it's going to be very enjoyable, and I know that flying is the second safest way to travel, ever, but I am still scared shitless, for no apparent reason. Actually what I am more afraid of than the flying itself is how I get to the plane at all, but others who have flown said it's not at all so difficult as it might seem.

But the time there is going to be extremely fun, I'm sure. I just wanted to write a last journal before I go, so if I don't give any sings of existence in like, two weeks, I probably died. :P But I'll be fine. I'll be completely fine.

(If I die on the way, I'll die happy, for I have stood face to face with the man whose voice filled my days for eight years now. I've heard and seen the band that had the greatest impact on my life- not just out of bands I mean, out of anything. A happy person I'll die.)

I also succeeded in buying 150 Danish Kroner today(it was much more difficult than it sounds like- I went to 5 different places to collect the two banknotes). I know that's nothing in an expensive country like Denmark, but theoretically I will not have to spend money on anything and at least I have the illusion of not going to a foreign country completely penniless. :rofl: Who knows, I might need it, even.

Now off to pack my suitcase- wish me good luck on the way! :wave: :heart:

Peace out

I just came back from Germany a few days ago. It's really like my second home now, and :icon3shades:s family made me feel really welcomed. It was pretty funny because it was raining almost all the time, I wasn't really prepared for that :rofl: But Tobi dug up an awesome and huge yellow raincoat for me that made it worth going out to the city. :D :D

I had made friends with a beadmaker in Hannover while visiting a bead shop, and this time she taught me how to make lamp beads :iconiloveyouplz: I just made a few simple ones not really worth uploading, but I might put up a photo of them to my scraps. I was terribly unhandy though, I envy the patience of the beadmaker lady. :rofl:

Tobi and I also visited a flea market together- I've never been to a flea market before, and I'd say that was one of the most remarkable moments of the whole vacation. One of the most interesting items that I saw was a Liebe ist für Alle Da vinyl + CD pack ;D We eventually didn't buy it though, I got myself a bunch of cheap things, and Tobi a PSP.

I was at a party and met most of Tobi's friends, who are all lovely and awesome people, and some of them I had not met before. For example there was Paul, who has the script of the one Ring on his wrist (+2 coolness points) and is a pretty good drummer (+8 coolness points) I could see their band's former rehearsing room and heard an improvised little concert. That was maybe the fact that awoke one of my greatly suppressed desires: to sing in a band.

It doesn't even have to be a band, I just really, really love to sing; but I was hiding this fact from everyone, because my voice is really not at all that good. I can sing in key but my voice is really weak so I would just never sang in front of anyone. I talked to Tobi about this later, and he encouraged me not to suppress this further. So I'm memorizing a bunch of songs now and whether I am hopeless or a talented singer, he will be the judge.

I met :iconred-kremling: but not as often as I wanted to. Sorry mate, I hope we can catch up more next time!

I also met Markus quite often, and I was happy to see that he's doing very well. He moved to a new flat now, which looked almost exactly the same as his old one, but this aura of depression completely disappeared from it. He has a flatmate who barely spoke any English but seemed like a cute and funny guy. And two huge and beautiful cats who were very amusing. :aww: We spent quite a lot of time there, listening to music, watching movies, and playing with the cats.

One of these movies was Cabaret, which made me realize that Hollywood made me forget how to watch a movie instead of just seeing it. I'm not trying to blame everything on Hollywood here, but I don't really think that the movies of today(at least the popular ones) don't make use of the possibilities that are hidden in motion picture as art. Technology is just struggling forward with ever-improving special effects, but there is no meaning behind. I was very glad to be reminded how to use my brain throughout to movie by this work of art.

Markus showed us the Elect the Dead Sypmhony by Serj Tankian. I don't have too much to say about it, except that it was a 55 minute sheer thrill. I always looked up to Serj as an artist without deeply immersing in what he is actually up to, but now that I've seen this, he's grown to astronomical heights in my eyes! Also, I never really did realize what an amazing singing talent he is. On this album, rock+classical collaboration are taken to the next level. Even if I'm trying to be really critical, I cannot rate this album less than 11 out of 10.

The DVD is very amusing and I'd say it's worth buying if you can afford. He says music isn't written, it comes from the Universe to all of us- what I found the most entertaining about the DVD is to watch him smile that delighted smile for almost an hour straight, looking up to the sky, as if he could really feel the music of the Universe that very moment :D:D:D

New album is coming out just these Tuesday, two very promising singles already out on Youtube. I'm really excited! Yeah, I totally became a fan....:giggle:

I also got the new KoRn album as a present. I don't want to talk too much of this at the moment, because I'm planning to write a complete review on it a bit later. But I can honestly say that it was VERY much to my satisfaction! :popcorn: :worship:

The fun times are over now, but I still have a lot to look forward to. School is hard, but I intentionally picked up fewer lessons than before, so I'll have more time for something that really matters: art!

But that's not even the beginning: in exactly a week i'm going to have the best day of my life. I'm finally going to see KORN LIVE!!! :excited: :boogie: I spent as much money on this adventure as I usually spend in a month, but I say, if I would have had to spend twice as much, It would still worth it! I have to see them before I die, and who knows how long i live, so I had decided that next time they would come anywhere near my country, I will go, no matter what the price...

I don't want to be in the first row, just so close that I can see Jonathan's face....

But this is still not all: Tobi's family invited me to go with them to Denmark. I'm totally excited about that, it's going to be the first time for me to be to a Scandinavian country. I hope I can make use of my little Norwegian knowledge there :D :D

In general, things are going unusually great for me... I'm sure the rest of 2010 will be totally awesome....
The stars are falling, make a wish quick... :dummy: :star: :star: :star: :star:

~~~~~~~~~
Have you seen any good movies recently? Anything worth seeing in the cinema now? What would you recommend to me?
Have you heard Serj's or KoRn's albums? What are your thoughts?
Hi all,
what's up? How was your holiday? Mine was nothing spectacular... I missed the good ole traditions I remember we used to have, like egg hunt and such... I tried to press the family into egg painting, but it didn't work out... No one really had the time, i guess, so Easter altogether just turned out to be the usual, almost automatical relative visiting meachanism.
On the other hand, I've learned to appreciate order in one's life more than I used to. I've been feeling very fragmentary lately... there are so many things going on in my life right now... somehow I fail even just to see through them. Still looking for ways to bring my life to a more organized level, but at the same time find a way to make it interesting. It's a borderline difficult to tell, eh? When does habit become a shallow, automatic meat grind?
Today I've voted for the first time in my life. It wasn't a too pleasant experience for we had to stand in line for 2 hours to get to that damn box :noes:
I've been working on some pieces lately, both drawing and craft. To bring some order to my life and force myself not to quit drawing, I came up with a new idea: Drawing of the Day. :D :D It doesn't have to be something big, but I'll finish a drawing every week, as long as I have ideas that is. I have a great backup of ideas at the moment that will last a while, even if I'm totally inspirationless for the next 2 months :D :D
This Drawing of the Week: a portrait of :iconabby-fennec: for herself, spiced up with a bit of fashion design. :P It's almost ready! :O
I was looking forward to my 16,666th page view- I was hoping to give away a prize to the one who gets it, but somebody caught it before I could even think about it :omfg: Oh well. :P I can still give one away for the 17,000th :D
I'm pretty convinced everyone knows this by heart already, but I'll write it down anyway for the sake of those who might be new to my page- If you get to catch my 17,000th page view, you have the right to request a drawing of some sort(its absolutely up to you, but certain conditions apply :P) I recommend you take a screenshot once you got it. And if no one claims the exact 17,000th, the closest wins (like 17,0005 or something)
While spending a wonderful week with :icon3shades: , I got to watch the new Alice in Wonderland in 3D original (English undubbed, that is) Any opinions? To put a long story short: one day shall come when a Tim Burton+Johnny Depp movie comes out, the combo breaker, that I will greatly dislike. BUT THIS DEFINITELY WASN'T IT. :excited: Currently looking for fabrics to make the Mad Hat. :P Which brings me on to write some short movie reviews on the ones I've seen lately, but I'd rather leave that for another journals, so now I can return to my studies and the Drawing of the Week.
Cheers!
