Hey guys, I hope you've had a very nice holiday with warm teas and lots of Christmas presents and awesome New Year's Eve parties :D :snowflake: How is everyone doing? What are you up to?

I just wanted to write about two important things,

I'm not the kind of person who likes making new year's resolutions, because I don't think this day is more special than any other given day and you don't need a new year to keep a promise, eh? however, this year I made one resolution... and I'm quite serious about it. It is that starting from now, I will upload at least one drawing to Deviantart a week. :D (I allow myself not to fulfill that completely to the extent that there might be pieces of artworks that require more time than a week to finish... I'm probably not going to upload a 4-5 page comic every week, eh) so... by one piece of artwork i mean the equivalent of one A4 sheet, which may or may not be coloured.

I'm very determined on improving my art skills, perhaps more so than ever. Wish me inspiration to keep my promise!

The second thing is that I made a tumblr

:spotlight-left: www.tumblr.com/blog/felroki :spotlight-right:

I use it as sort of an artistic blog, weaved together with some personal stuff. if you are interested in what i draw and paint and stitch, feel free to stalk me. i will post there much more frequently than to my Deviantart page. This page will be reserved for my better creations only.  :strip:

I hope you all have a fantastic 2012 (I sure am very excited about this year!) :boogie: :hug:

:star: I've wanted a tablet for a ridiculously long time now. I could just never collect so much money that i could buy one, i always needed the money for soething else... but this time its for real. I have to face it, if i want to be a good artist, a tablet is quite essential in our age-
:star: Something trivial, but a hot sandwich maker would be great... I used to eat hot sandwiches for breakfast when i still lived at home, and before ours broke. I miss them a lot.
:star: Dimmu Borgir's newest album... I'm going to buy that as soon as I can. They made such a great impression on me at the concert! :la:
:star: A 2011 calendar(You know that notebook kind of calendar you can carry around. I actually bought that on my birthday already)
:star: I still don't have a headset, and perhaps i could use a pair. With a microphone preferably. I miss the voice of my sweetie! :heart: and i should seriously stop making them huge phone bills...

News, there aren't too many as far as my life goes. i've just recently turned 21, therefore I am now legal in all countries of the world :D :D (those that i know of that is) :P
I'm working on several art pieces simultaneously at the moment. I have been feeling very productive(and experimental) but the exam period cut my efforts in a half; i have many unfinished pieces in progress at the moment, but I dont know when I can find the time to finish them. It might take some time. Until that, i might dig up my computer for a few unsubmitted pieces, to keep my deviantart peeps updated.

Just wanted to let the world know that 11 days ago, first time after 8 years, I've seen my favourite band live.

Should I even start on the story of this amazing, incredible, godlike night? If I begin now, three weeks from now I'll still be writing the same journal... (besides, those people who might be interested in my journal were either there with me, or I already told them... i'm not even writing this for anyone to read- only for the sake of the record...) It was the day when you imagine how perfect things can go, but real live surpasses your imagination. This day was three times as much as I ever dreamed.

First of all, I could share the experience with my loved one which just doubled all the fun. All I wanted is to see those guys just once so close that I can see their faces, for 2 minutes only- what really happened is that we ended up in the first row, about a step away from the stage, and Jonathan Davis was singing RIGHT in front of us during about half of the concert (we were a bit to the left from the center, and he kept swinging from left to right around the front of the stage- as a result, we were literally screaming at his feet):worship:

Fieldy was a bit to the left of us, and so close to us that at some point I thought he would come down to us from the stage. He kept eye contact with the fans all the time, though, and stood still when we wanted to take a photo- not only the press photographers, I mean, but just us regular fans as well. He definitely enjoyed the love of the crowd.

I also have to add, that this was the first concert of my life. (When KoRn came to my country for the first time and I couldn't go there, because I was too young-had noone to go with-had no money etc. I made an oath that the first band or musician I will hear live will be KoRn. I take pride in the fact that I kept my oath for years until the day of the concert. I took it very seriously.)

And we got a pick from Munky... :heart:

So then again, to cut the long story short... this was the best day of my life that I've ever had and will have in the next few years. Thank you KoRn. Thank you Ray, Fieldy, Munky, Jonathan. Thank you, thank you all. I'm not the same person as before.

:strip:

Other than that, I'm going to Denmark the day after tomorrow and for the first time of my life, I'm going to fly. Everybody said that it's going to be very enjoyable, and I know that flying is the second safest way to travel, ever, but I am still scared shitless, for no apparent reason. Actually what I am more afraid of than the flying itself is how I get to the plane at all, but others who have flown said it's not at all so difficult as it might seem.

But the time there is going to be extremely fun, I'm sure. I just wanted to write a last journal before I go, so if I don't give any sings of existence in like, two weeks, I probably died. :P But I'll be fine. I'll be completely fine.

(If I die on the way, I'll die happy, for I have stood face to face with the man whose voice filled my days for eight years now. I've heard and seen the band that had the greatest impact on my life- not just out of bands I mean, out of anything. A happy person I'll die.)

I also succeeded in buying 150 Danish Kroner today(it was much more difficult than it sounds like- I went to 5 different places to collect the two banknotes). I know that's nothing in an expensive country like Denmark, but theoretically I will not have to spend money on anything and at least I have the illusion of not going to a foreign country completely penniless. :rofl: Who knows, I might need it, even.

Now off to pack my suitcase- wish me good luck on the way! :wave: :heart:

Peace out

I just came back from Germany a few days ago. It's really like my second home now, and :icon3shades:s family made me feel really welcomed. It was pretty funny because it was raining almost all the time, I wasn't really prepared for that :rofl: But Tobi dug up an awesome and huge yellow raincoat for me that made it worth going out to the city. :D :D

I had made friends with a beadmaker in Hannover while visiting a bead shop, and this time she taught me how to make lamp beads :iconiloveyouplz: I just made a few simple ones not really worth uploading, but I might put up a photo of them to my scraps. I was terribly unhandy though, I envy the patience of the beadmaker lady. :rofl:

Tobi and I also visited a flea market together- I've never been to a flea market before, and I'd say that was one of the most remarkable moments of the whole vacation. One of the most interesting items that I saw was a Liebe ist für Alle Da vinyl + CD pack ;D We eventually didn't buy it though, I got myself a bunch of cheap things, and Tobi a PSP.

I was at a party and met most of Tobi's friends, who are all lovely and awesome people, and some of them I had not met before. For example there was Paul, who has the script of the one Ring on his wrist (+2 coolness points) and is a pretty good drummer (+8 coolness points) I could see their band's former rehearsing room and heard an improvised little concert. That was maybe the fact that awoke one of my greatly suppressed desires: to sing in a band.

It doesn't even have to be a band, I just really, really love to sing; but I was hiding this fact from everyone, because my voice is really not at all that good. I can sing in key but my voice is really weak so I would just never sang in front of anyone. I talked to Tobi about this later, and he encouraged me not to suppress this further. So I'm memorizing a bunch of songs now and whether I am hopeless or a talented singer, he will be the judge.

I met :iconred-kremling: but not as often as I wanted to. Sorry mate, I hope we can catch up more next time!

I also met Markus quite often, and I was happy to see that he's doing very well. He moved to a new flat now, which looked almost exactly the same as his old one, but this aura of depression completely disappeared from it. He has a flatmate who barely spoke any English but seemed like a cute and funny guy. And two huge and beautiful cats who were very amusing. :aww: We spent quite a lot of time there, listening to music, watching movies, and playing with the cats.

One of these movies was Cabaret, which made me realize that Hollywood made me forget how to watch a movie instead of just seeing it. I'm not trying to blame everything on Hollywood here, but I don't really think that the movies of today(at least the popular ones) don't make use of the possibilities that are hidden in motion picture as art. Technology is just struggling forward with ever-improving special effects, but there is no meaning behind. I was very glad to be reminded how to use my brain throughout to movie by this work of art.

Markus showed us the Elect the Dead Sypmhony by Serj Tankian. I don't have too much to say about it, except that it was a 55 minute sheer thrill. I always looked up to Serj as an artist without deeply immersing in what he is actually up to, but now that I've seen this, he's grown to astronomical heights in my eyes! Also, I never really did realize what an amazing singing talent he is. On this album, rock+classical collaboration are taken to the next level. Even if I'm trying to be really critical, I cannot rate this album less than 11 out of 10.

The DVD is very amusing and I'd say it's worth buying if you can afford. He says music isn't written, it comes from the Universe to all of us- what I found the most entertaining about the DVD is to watch him smile that delighted smile for almost an hour straight, looking up to the sky, as if he could really feel the music of the Universe that very moment :D:D:D

New album is coming out just these Tuesday, two very promising singles already out on Youtube. I'm really excited! Yeah, I totally became a fan....:giggle:

I also got the new KoRn album as a present. I don't want to talk too much of this at the moment, because I'm planning to write a complete review on it a bit later. But I can honestly say that it was VERY much to my satisfaction! :popcorn: :worship:

The fun times are over now, but I still have a lot to look forward to. School is hard, but I intentionally picked up fewer lessons than before, so I'll have more time for something that really matters: art!

But that's not even the beginning: in exactly a week i'm going to have the best day of my life. I'm finally going to see KORN LIVE!!! :excited: :boogie: I spent as much money on this adventure as I usually spend in a month, but I say, if I would have had to spend twice as much, It would still worth it! I have to see them before I die, and who knows how long i live, so I had decided that next time they would come anywhere near my country, I will go, no matter what the price...

I don't want to be in the first row, just so close that I can see Jonathan's face....

But this is still not all: Tobi's family invited me to go with them to Denmark. I'm totally excited about that, it's going to be the first time for me to be to a Scandinavian country. I hope I can make use of my little Norwegian knowledge there :D :D

In general, things are going unusually great for me... I'm sure the rest of 2010 will be totally awesome....
The stars are falling, make a wish quick... :dummy: :star: :star: :star: :star:

~~~~~~~~~
Have you seen any good movies recently? Anything worth seeing in the cinema now? What would you recommend to me?
Have you heard Serj's or KoRn's albums? What are your thoughts?
Hi all,
what's up? How was your holiday? Mine was nothing spectacular... I missed the good ole traditions I remember we used to have, like egg hunt and such... I tried to press the family into egg painting, but it didn't work out... No one really had the time, i guess, so Easter altogether just turned out to be the usual, almost automatical relative visiting meachanism.
On the other hand, I've learned to appreciate order in one's life more than I used to. I've been feeling very fragmentary lately... there are so many things going on in my life right now... somehow I fail even just to see through them. Still looking for ways to bring my life to a more organized level, but at the same time find a way to make it interesting. It's a borderline difficult to tell, eh? When does habit become a shallow, automatic meat grind?
Today I've voted for the first time in my life. It wasn't a too pleasant experience for we had to stand in line for 2 hours to get to that damn box :noes:
I've been working on some pieces lately, both drawing and craft. To bring some order to my life and force myself not to quit drawing, I came up with a new idea: Drawing of the Day. :D :D It doesn't have to be something big, but I'll finish a drawing every week, as long as I have ideas that is. I have a great backup of ideas at the moment that will last a while, even if I'm totally inspirationless for the next 2 months :D :D
This Drawing of the Week: a portrait of :iconabby-fennec: for herself, spiced up with a bit of fashion design. :P It's almost ready! :O
I was looking forward to my 16,666th page view- I was hoping to give away a prize to the one who gets it, but somebody caught it before I could even think about it :omfg: Oh well. :P I can still give one away for the 17,000th :D
I'm pretty convinced everyone knows this by heart already, but I'll write it down anyway for the sake of those who might be new to my page- If you get to catch my 17,000th page view, you have the right to request a drawing of some sort(its absolutely up to you, but certain conditions apply :P) I recommend you take a screenshot once you got it. And if no one claims the exact 17,000th, the closest wins (like 17,0005 or something)
While spending a wonderful week with :icon3shades: , I got to watch the new Alice in Wonderland in 3D original (English undubbed, that is) Any opinions? To put a long story short: one day shall come when a Tim Burton+Johnny Depp movie comes out, the combo breaker, that I will greatly dislike. BUT THIS DEFINITELY WASN'T IT. :excited: Currently looking for fabrics to make the Mad Hat. :P Which brings me on to write some short movie reviews on the ones I've seen lately, but I'd rather leave that for another journals, so now I can return to my studies and the Drawing of the Week.
Cheers!
I will have my first exam on 17th and my birthday is just a day after that, but instead of studying I've just decided to waste my time putting together my wishlist, which is an old tradition I almost entirely forgot about. I was so busy with eventually not so important things that it somehow never occured to me that it's really my birthday soon and I should perhaps get to write this list sometime soon. :P
Actually I don't really know if I'm that overly excited on turning 20. Not that I don't want my birthday to come, it just kind of surprised me that it will happen so soon, I didn't even have the time yet to become excited. It also struck me unusual that it actually came difficult for me to put a wishlist together. As it seems, I dont have uncontrollable desires to possess things at the moment (or even if I do, they are just plain too expensive) :P
Being quite uninspired, I just visited some of the online stores and picked a few things I would buy if I could... :D:D if nothing else, use this narrow but fine selection to a guide of awesome online stores, have fun checking the mout and buy yourself something classy :aww: :boogie:
:xmas: :boogie: :snowflake: The Wishlist December 2009 :snowflake: :strip: :holly:
~ If I could really buy anything, I would most definitely buy a tablet. I truly miss drawing on the computer and it would be incredibly handy sometimes. A tablet, however, is a hopeless dream in my current financial situation hahahah.
~ If I would invest in something expensive but not yet hopeless, I would buy myself a new pair of headphones because the ones I've had for years are literally falling apart.
~ I would really like to get some comics; I've wanted to put my hands on Ross Campbell's Wet Moon series forever.  (You can check out his art here :iconmooncalfe: ) Black Metal by Chuck BB & Rick Spears is a gem. I've read it already but I borrowed it from Tobi who borrowed it from a friend... but it's something I would like to have for myself. Check out a preview here: www.onipress.com/display.php?t…
~ Tons and tons of handcraft supplies, especially beads, can always come in handy, but I have serious problems placing the ones I already have. I have to admit it, I'm severely addicted. I don't even list art supplies anymore, I have so many of them at home.
~ Since I study Norwegian now, a Norwegian-English dictionary would be quite useful. I found one in the university bookstore but it costs about as much as my whole montly income, so I'm rather not convinced I should rush to buy it. Perhaps I will actually order one from the Internet if I'll have enough money on my paypal account. (Which equals not anytime soon :D)
~ It became a necessity for me to get a decent towel. I usually borrow towels from home but they are all really old and not large enough for my taste, and I cannot use my beautiful, but poorly made panda towel all the time if I don't want it to fall into smithereens.
~ A few beautiful handmade items from Meska: www.meska.hu/img/product/origi… www.meska.hu/img/product/origi… www.meska.hu/img/product/origi… www.meska.hu/img/product/origi… www.meska.hu/img/product/origi… www.meska.hu/img/product/origi…
~ www.ikea.com/hu/hu/catalog/pro… and www.ikea.com/hu/hu/catalog/pro… look fantastic in real life. I actually have something very smilar already, but it's plain black and quite boring. I would be quite happy to sell it and buy this one, I actually might, if I have enough money.
~ A few other Ikea items: any of these beauties www.ikea.com/hu/hu/catalog/cat…, some sort of long glass is a must, like for examle this www.ikea.com/hu/hu/catalog/pro… , these candles that smell lovely www.ikea.com/hu/hu/catalog/pro… www.ikea.com/hu/hu/catalog/pro… www.ikea.com/hu/hu/catalog/pro…
~ I could really use some cool KoRn shirts, I have only one at the moment. I ventured into the world of KoRn merchandise, and as it seems, there is quite a downtide in there. www.bandstores.co.uk/shop/korn… and www.bandstores.co.uk/shop/korn… doesn't look bad. rockmerchuniverse.com/korn_hoo… The third of three I would love to wear. rockmerchuniverse.com/korn_die… This I still want, but maybe for another birthday... www.marketmusic.co.uk/store/wa… looks surprisingly better than average KoRn wallets. I'm not really for simply ANYthing that has 'KoRn' written on it, but this looks really cool, some sort of grungy. www.rockabilia.com/product.php… www.rockmerch.com/merchandise/… www.marketmusic.co.uk/store/pa… are some cool patches. I was greatly disappointed though that a t-shirt design that has been around for years, featuring a bagpipe, suddenly disappeared, or at least I couldn't find it anywhere in the most popular stores.
~ Blablahospital is a Japanese design company with a quite original design concept and quite radical handmade wear. Here's my quick selection: blablahospital.ocnk.net/produc… blablahospital.ocnk.net/produc… blablahospital.ocnk.net/produc… 1.bp.blogspot.com/_LtVD2ZqxVo8…
~ There are only two problems with the orgasmically cute/classy/pseudo-Japanese/indie collection of Shana Logic: a. there are too many cool things to buy b. the international shipping fee is just incredibly high. My plan is that I put the few hundred items I want to buy on my wishlist and keep them stored well until I win a lot of money from somewhere or my comics become an international debut. Here's the notorious wishlist shanalogic.com/wishlist.php?us…
~ I yet need to get a pack of Tarot cards from somewhere. What I've heard is that you are not supposed to buy it, you should get it as a gift, so I have pretty firm intentions of stealing a deck from a friend who has several decks with him. Not simply because I'm mean and terrible, but also because I look upon him as sort of spiritual master so if I get a deck from anyone, it definitely should be him, right?
~ I'm seriously considering to order something like this: szilviabead.deviantart.com/art… :worship: :iconbodaszilvia:
~ Tokyomade is the site I originally found Blablahospital at. It features a quite wide selection of fantastically stylish Japanese fashion designers. Japanese tradition and street fashion is often mirrored in their works. Here's just two things I found particularly cool: www.tokyomade.com/product_info… www.tokyomade.com/product_info…
~ While we are at it, I would really love to have a vintage kimomo... you know, something reeealy pretty, like that black window shade above. It's only like the most expensive garment that just can be bought on the surface of earth, but again, who cares.
~ I would really love to get a bottle of genuine Scottish whiskey... I really missed that when I was 18. Nothing really made up for that.
I guess that's about all. Now I'll return to be devoured by my boring textbooks so I don't fail (and perhaps even get some sort of monthly scholarship money from the university) :nirvana: Wish me good luck! Peace y'all!
Hey peeps!
I'm back again from my summer vacation- and some of university too- to conquer and invade DA once again.
How was the summer of you all? I possibly had the best time of my life ever- Tobi came to me and then we went to Germany together for two weeks. It was the first time I have ever been there, one more tick on my checklist :D (I want to have been to all European countries one day) Also first time ever I met my future in-laws, who appeared to like me, so that's some great pressure of my chest, I would be pretty much fucked if they didn't :D
One really fucking bad thing that happened is that on the way there my wallet was stolen, probably while I was sleeping, and my credit card was in it too, and it was basically broken into (SOMEhow, I have no idea how) so I was completely drained of all my money. I guess I am through this now, and it could have been much worse: I lent a great part of my money to Tobi so when he gave it back to me, I actually had money to buy food from; also, like a month before the card was stolen, I spent a shitload of money on things like new clothes. So should have it been stolen two months earlier, I would not have twice as much money right now. That's probably the worst thing that ever happened to me, but I learned many lessons from this incident. And silly as it may be, one of them is that only that money is yours that you spend. Just think of it, it's really true. And I mean life is like that, right? That money went as it came. I recieved it as a gift from my university, and I saved it for really tough times, it was my emergency saving. You can really never take anything granted.... I am now a poorer, but much wiser man.
Despite this event, thanks to Tobi and his family, I was having great fun in Germany. Nothing that spectacular happened... I saw Hannover, a beautiful city, we were shopping around, I met Tobi's friends who are absolutely fantastic people, I was partying, swimming with Tobi, and cuddled chinchillas almost every day. Until you have cuddled a chinchilla, you don't know the meaning of soft.
Unfortunately it was over all too soon and I had to come back to uni. It's about the third week of uni right now. I have new roommates who are WAY better than the ones are had last year- they make me want to look forward to arrive home from school :D :D Room 503: the room of perfection :D :D I took up Norwegian lessons besides English, and I enjoy it greatly so far. Had I known it's such a beautiful language, I would have picked it up much earlier. Also, I find its grammar very easy to understand after learning some English grammar.
I also worked a bit last week, the same cleaning job again. It wasn't quite easy to put through, I mean arriving at home at 8 and then start studying... it's something I yet need to get used to. But I can pull off a week a month easily, and that little pocket money I get matters a lot.
Another unfortunate event is that my camera passed away yesterday. Actually it's a camera I traded with Tobi for my cd player, but it was already terminally ill when I recieved it. Yesterday it gave up working, now it's watching over us from above.
It's not only sad but incredibly unpractical because I cannot go on working on my handcrafty store without a camera... (Just when my business started to take off... my luck!) Unfortunately I must buy one, there is no one around me whose I could borrow... I have a little money on the black, but I cannot pay it all, so my idea was to give away very cheap commissions (think in terms of like $5-$15) that might cover a part of it at least. So if you always wanted a drawing from me, it's your time ;) DA is full of very helpful people, and I appreciate any help. Should you donate me any amount, I'll thank your efforts with a drawing. :heart: :blowkiss: :hug:
I can also be commissioned for handcrafty items. For inspiration you might want to check my store, www.meska.hu/Shop/index/858 (I also have an Etsy but my items expired there and I don't yet have the money to renew them :cries: ) Some of the things I often make: jewelry, felt plushies, decorated notebooks, kanzashis (look more or less similar to Japanese traditional hairpieces that geishas wear, you might want to google this up if you are interested) If you have an idea, drop me a message and we can talk about it.
Oh- one more important thing that I forgot. I was promoted in :iconloucathwil:'s journal so I will promote some people as well. It's basically like a chain letter except that it's about helping each other to get a little attention and discovering new art. I have ten slots, of which the first belongs to :iconloucathwil:, and the other 9 I will use to promote the first 9 people commenting on this journal. I pick 3 drawings from your gallery and perhaps write a little explanation why I picked it. In return, you also write a journal similar to mine, putting me in the first place. Everybody, everybody, stand up, don't be shy! :D
I will finish my journal with these thoughts- soon I will come back with drawings, updates and possibly some film reviews (I've seen so many great movies lately, I cannot even count them anymore).
Peace out
:blowkiss:
Hi all!
Just a little journal entry, since there is not much updateable going on...
I've just got through with my exams at uni, went excellently, so for the remaining time I spend in the capital city, I'm just shopping, going out and having fun all over the place... having a little summer vacation :D
I'm also working :aww: Just some cleaning job, on the second storey of an office block. I'm standing in for one of the cleaners until the end of the next week. Not so bad, for I don't have to work my ass off, and it's quite well paid. What is more, the peeps are quite satisfied with me so I might be called in again during the next semester... a bit of extra pocket money is never bad :D
More time also means more art, which is already in the making, and should be uploaded here soon. eventually... :D :D
Oh, and something very important I almost forgot: when I uploaded my first handcrafted piece here, felty gir, the interest in it was great and I got a massive amount of positive feedback on it as well, which i am very thankful for :blowkiss: :hug: You gave me lot of confidence about my handcrafty stuff, so I might upload something non-drawing to my DA gallery sometime again. :D :D
~~I ' m   A l i v e
That's all about my life at the moment- on a different note, something very important: I kicked myself on the ass (was quite difficult, but all you need is a bit of practice) and took full responsibility to the once alive, now revived KornFans club! :heart:
:spotlight-left: :iconkornfans: :spotlight-right:
I'm calling out for all KoRn fans out there- I'm trying to make a zombie out of this club as much as I can, but I need your help :D if you like KoRn, please do join :D and put this in your journals so even more fans can see it and we can all under the wings of our masters :excited:
~~ T a g z o r z
First in my almost 6 years on DA, ever, I was tagged by :icon3shades: :excited: :heart: :smooch:
Rules of tag-
- Post these rules.
- Each tagged person must post 8 things about themselves on their journal.
- At the end you have to choose 8 people to tag, and post their icons on the same journal.
- Go to their page and send a message saying you tagged them.
- No tag-backs.
I needed to think about that very carefully, what interesting things could be said about me? what is more, 8 of them... I am the master of boringness... :D then i came up with these:
1. I started drawing before I started speaking
2. I was sent to a primary school specialized in music because I would sing all the time endlessly as a small kid. This actually hasn't changed ever since
3. I read the Lord of the Rings before it became popular
4. I was 12 years old
5. When I was in high school, I wrote every single R capital backwards in my notebooks obsessively. the teachers noticed it and thought I was mentally challenged and dyslexic until 11th grade when I showed my teacher I can actually write completely normal Rs.
6. Since I could only get this far, Tobi advised me to leave out the other three points with clever tricks, like he did.
7. My most recent crazy idea is to get a viola and play KoRn songs on it :D
8. This is rather uninteresting and melodramatic but I just wanted to include it in the list, so... since this is the last slot, I accidently left it to the end... :D
the truth is that but for the exhibition pieces, I haven't drawn a single decent piece of drawing in the past... I don't know how many years. I was developing steadily up to when I was some 14 years old, I was confident, and I became better with every single drawing. and then... I don't know what happened, something went wrong. Just look at my gallery- in the past several years, all I uploaded is sketchbook doodle bullshit... and miserably small number of drawings in general. I was terribly struggling with drawing.. I actually almost did give it up. But just a step before jumping into the void- I didn't. I realized that there is nothing there. There is nothing in me if I take the drawing away. I might not be the greatest talent of all, but this is what I live for.
And I'm starting to find myself in drawing again. I'm getting back to it, to the joy of it. It's easier to believe now that I can be the comic artist one day whom I wanted to be since I was 12 years old. The conclusion is that I will draw much more often and upload it here all over the place so you can see my progress :D Don't be too tough on me, for I got out of practice a bit. I need to get back to it again. I might actually just draw after photos, movies etc. for a while, for a start, to improve my skills, the technical part of it all. So again, don't be too tough- the first few pictures might be disappointing- but nevertheless, I believe in my own development :D :D
These peeps can has my tags:
:icongrinningsorrow: :iconcannibalgnome: :iconabby-fennec: :iconmecoiy: :iconloucathwil: :iconltcm: :iconcheella: :iconthekillerkitttty:
Anyone else who feels like it can do it of course. I just tagged 8 random peeps but if you want to do this, consider yourself tagged ;)
~~ W a t c h l i s t  U p d a t e
The newest peep I've added to my watchlist is: :iconmecoiy:
A wonderful, fresh young talent (I think i'm starting to grow old. I start calling people younger than me young) under whose hands a nice cartoonic style has begun to take shape. KoRn fans will always have a special place in my heart, and I say, the future of KoRn fanart lies here.
~~ L e t ' s  G e t  D o w n  T o  B u s i n e s s
First of all, since I need a little money, i can be hired for the drawzorz :aww: :strip:
But since I'm very lazy, I'll just copy the info from the previous journal:
You know, at the moment, i could use both a bit of inspiration and money... I have a little money management problem here until fortnight or so, thus, i was thinking.... i'd might be open to -omygod- ..commissions?! :omfg:
i wonder if anyone would be interested.... :aww:
I know, i'm not even close to a professional, but you can see that i work hard on each drawing of mine, and I'd do my best to make the best out of your idea... :D
Also, considering the above, I'd run pretty cheap... ;) we can agree on the price, I'm pretty flexible. just to give you an idea, outline drawings could start from a good 10$... in my eyes, altogether the price depends on amount/sensitivity of detail (eg. a drawing of a bunch of characters vs. a realistic portrait...) whether it's coloured or not....
I'm a person of many styles; also, I have quite a few artistic tools right here in the student hostel. I usually mix a lot of them within one picture, but you can absolutely specify which one you would like me to use, if you want to. Just one piece of advice: I'm getting better and better at watercolours, but any other kind of painting... you know the messy kind of ones like oil... well, if i were you, i'd give myself some time for development, there is definitely a lot of space for that :rofl:
Most importantly, what should be on the pic? With the usual exceptions (within the above mentioned certain limits of good taste, mind you) it doesn't really matter; if i don't like it, i will tell you, but i don't except anyone to come up with something revolting.
I feel most confident about drawing people, but I enjoy challenges :D I also like to practice realism, and i love to draw bands and singers... *hint hint* ;)
Only traditional art commissions at the moment...:( (in fact, a tablet is what i am collecting my money for) :D
You know, good work needs time... especially if good work meets a hopeless procrascinator and hopeless perfectionist at the same time :rofl: so... I must ask for your patience... but i will try to finish it as soon as possible and the waiting will be rewarding i promise :D
One way I thought we could manage this business, is that you tell me the idea, and you don't have to pay until the drawing is finished- when that happens, I can send you a tiny thumbnail, and you only pay if you like it. I'll scan it for you in a resolution as big as you desire. If you really want to, you can have the original too, for some extra (shipping) cost. By default, I will probably upload it to DA, unless you ask me not to.
If you have any more questions, just ask right away :aww:
You can also write to me through email, using the address given on my DA page, it's somewhere there.
**** Another thing is that I opened a new handcraft store that might be interesting for the Hungarian peeps:
www.meska.hu/Shop/index/858 :strip:
Basically isn't different from my Etsy store in style, they also run under the same name, but I'll have different items up here, so if somebody wants to handcraft-commission me, it might be a good thing to check my hungarian site too to see what i am capable of :D
This is my Etsy store: www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=…
COMMISSION INFO:
1. 3shades ~~ Warhammer commission 1, two riders: 80%
2. DarkRaven21 ~~ Realistic/comic self double commish: 0% (Reference missing! Még várom a ké peket...) :D :D
3. 3shades ~~ Warhammer 2, 2 hiding peeps: 0%
4. 3shades ~~ Warhammer 3, group pic: 0%
As you can see, I'm pretty busy commission-wise, but if you can be patient, I would love to draw something for you as well :aww: :heart:
It's quite some time past Christmas by now, eh? I still haven't thrown that good ol' and outdated pear tree out... cause i promised to give some updates...
by the way, we still have the same christmas decoration in our room of the student hostel :rofl: just didn't have the heart to take it down and put it aside... I maybe shouldn't wait until next Christmas with it, though...
Well, how you're doing y'all? I still cannot complain... Christmas was pretty smashing, with the warm athmosphere, fantastic food, overwhelming amount of presents and the usual Christmas spirit. I ended up with quite a few useful household items for my university life. I closed the exam period with unexpectedly good results, which I celebrated with an incredibly pleasant 3 weeks' vacation together with my loved one :icon3shades:
Now life is back to normal again. It struck me rather unprepared for some reason: today the third week has begun, and i still have no notebooks :D (i do take notes... in one of my notebooks from last semester... all of them in one) :D it's time you gather yourself Fel!
everything is pretty much all over the place now... I have too much to do at the same time, all the letters I promised to write to everybody, the schoolwork (not too much yet, luckily) drawings.... and i should find a job too, so i can earn a little money....
As I might have promised before, new pics are coming soon! i just need a little time to fix them, scan them etc.
~~~

I wonder what happened to this old custom on DA, that if somebody catches a special pageview number, can make a free art request... I thought that was pretty swell... let's revive it again, shall we?

anyone who catches my 13,000th pageview may have a drawing from me of their choice... :plotting: technique, style, amount of detail and of course, theme -within certain loose limits of good taste, kinky bastards :P (yes, that's you, Tobi) - is up to you!

all i ask for is a screenshot, k? and the fun thing is, if nobody redeems this wonderful prize... the closest redeemer is the winner :nod: (e.g. 13,006 or so)  And winner take it all system is in da house :P

Hello everybody :D

I'm just dropping you an extremely short note, because i wanted to wish you all a very happy Christmas :holly: :D :strip: :xmas: :santa: :flirty:

I hope all is well for everybody, being a victim of a case involving lots of cakes, presents and a warm, welcoming home :aww:

I'm going to my grandfather's house tomorrow and there is no internet there, this is why i wanted to write today - i don't really have the time though, so I will come back with a longer journal when I arrive back home again :D

Hello everybody :aww:

I hope all is well for everyone. As for me, my life is absolutely fine. As we speak, I'm laying on my bed, writing this on ym OWN LAPTOP (the keyboard... buttons so soft to push... the need to sit at the desk is no more...) this is what I craved for ages.... :D :D

I'm at university now(in fact, the first semester is almost over) - I study something that i really enjoy (English language) I share a room with a best friend, i have the freedom I always wanted; I have friends.... i feel great! content and happy! :aww:
My whole life took a 180° turn... definitely a lot of things changed since i live up here in the capital city. I hear it from a lot of people that Budapest is ugly. I definitely disagree; I think its really pretty, with that variety of beautiful old and extravagant new stylish buildings; maybe its just a bit dirty :D I love that basically everything is at hand. I go to stores that i had only read about on the Internet. There is such a variety of everything. Awesome.

I also enjoy going to the university. My teachers are very friendly, knowledgeable, treat us as equals and are willing to help at all times. (Not al of them, but at least MOST of them. eh eh.) You are not forced to look up to them; you just look up to them because they deserve it. You don't just sit in and listen(or not) then go out. Soooo much different than high school. Plus teamwork, enthusiastic people... Minus those jerks without a life, kicking everybody around. The people at the university are either very friendly or know how to deal with it intelligently if they don't like you. They have goals. They can see further than the party next Friday.
Here are some of the very useful things I have learned at the university so far:

Duality is one of the characteristic features of all human languages :P
you need whips to organize parties, :rofl: (What kind of parties, i ask?....)
there are two allovariants of L in English: a "dark" and a lighter one,
Obituary is a biography written after the person's death
What really happened in the cave... thanks to szienna ;) :rofl: (What?..which cave?... you may want to check www.bartleby.com/126/55.html )

While we are at it, I thought i needed to make a very important and necessary announcement. Mainstream or not... I have become a Death Note fan. I am those probably very few people who didn't get caught by the anime series: I first read the first two comics; then saw the movie (Kenichi Matsuyama was THE ACE.... i think i'm in love) :D :heart: :P My roommate has them on her computer i think... i should watch them sometime :D

....................................

Now let me go on with some business kind of stuff that you might be interested in (at least i hope so) :D
you probably didnt know but i have been a handcrafting peep all my life, and now I have opened an Etsy store to sell some of the stuff I created lately, thus earn a little pocket money. :D

www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=… :flirty:

Please do take a look. There is not much in there yet, but please do come back later because I will put up new stuff every once in a while, especially after my exams, when i'll have more time. I hope there will be something that you'll like :aww: Also, if you would like a customized piece or if you have an idea that you think i could work out, please let me know :D

...................................

Just a question that leaves me wondering every once in a while... There used to be a habit among the DA peeps that if somebody catches their XXXXXth pageview they get some kind of gift drawing.... it seems to have died out by now which is kinda sad... I would actually like to bring it back.... :aww:
I offer to draw anybody's idea as a gift if they catch, lets say, my 13,000th page view (holy shit, i'm popular) a screenshot taken is a requirement :P

....................................

I should be preparing for my exams, so I'm better off now to study. Cross your fingers for me please! :please: :heart:

Both my birthday and christmas are approaching... and this wish list is a kind of tradition now so the other day i thought it was time to write another one, yet again :aww:

The list this year is fairly limited and somewhat more modest than the usual (at least it doesnt include my own recording studio this time) :rofl: - I actually feel pretty content and there is barely anything i really need... so i will just list mostly the random things I saw and I would buy if i had some money (hopefully will, by the end of the holidays :P )

:holly: :strip: :snowflake: WiSH LiST DECEMBER 2008 :snowflake: :excited: :xmas:

-good results for my exams........:confused:
-a tablet(i'm collecting my money for it...go me)
-there was a pair of red boots i saw the other day in a store.. they cast a spell on me... that happened weeks ago, but until now, even the tag reading 22.700HUF($114) couldn't break my fascination down...
-this reeeeally cool pinstripe hat I saw
-a really beautiful and huge pair of earrings
-some money, so i can buy myself stuff...mostly clothes
-a few handy kitchen appliances
-a new pencil case
-a pretty 2009 calendar
-a pack of Tarot cards (i still haven't bought one.... jeez)
-some new shelves i can hang up on the walls of the room
-A fine professional set of watercolours(Van Gogh brand in particular)
-One set of Jonathan's costumes, a particular one, that i would make for myself
-Wet Moon 1 and Black Metal (i should finally get reading some good shit)
-an emo shoe :P
-a new KoRn shirt or two because i could make use of some :giggle:

This is all i can think of atm. This year, however, I dont really expect my family or anyone to buy me anything. I think i will just take the money given and the money i've spared and buy myself every 3rd thing i just see.... :giggle: yay for shopping spree.... :strip:

Hello all,

greetings from my fantastically rearranged room. my sister's gonna move in, so we repaired and removed some things. now it's a bit larger and suitable for two people. although one of them is not going to stay at home much more than 2 days per week.

yes, because i got admitted to the university i really wanted to go, how awesome. in addition, i'll live in a really well equipped student hostel and i'll be roommates with one of my best friends.  Everything turned out very well so far.

Now, i'm just lazing around with 3shades who spends his holiday over here. drawing, swimming, shopping, reading comics and watching zim DVDs- this is the was we maintain our pitiful human lives. :P

we also were at my grandmother's house for about a week or so, but i forgot to take my fresh dawings with me so i couldnt scan them and post them here. next time, dudes.

also, we tried to set up an Etsy store, but as it turned out, none of us has an approvable credit card, which is kind of essential. :D it  kinda sucked to find that out, but not all hope is lost yet, cause my credit card is being created in the darkest pit of hell as we speak(as you read, that is) i will go down to hell next monday and question the lord of darkness why it takes so long, its been already 3 weeks since i requested one.

in the etsy store, i was going to sell my little handcrafts of various kinds (that is kinda redundant to those who are aware of the very essence of etsy as a site) and its main goal is to help me maintain my luxurious golden life during the university times. (yes, you probably never knew but i have actually always been a great handcraft peep.)i hope you will be interested in my little handcrafted stuff anyhow. if i'm lucky, the store will be up soon enough.

speaking of handcrafts, you can have a peek at some of the stuff i made here. szeretetvarazs.blogspot.com/20…

That was for some kind of charity organization. They are helping out orphan kids from transylvania. there's going to be an exhibition made of all the stuff that handcrafters created all around the country, and after that, both the money and the displayed items go to the lil kids. i think thats really cool. my grandmother told me about this whole thing and while i was there at her house, i made a little puppet every day.

My favourite is the owl, and the panda, obviously.

We also saw some really good movies in teh cinema. Kung Fu Panda simply blew my mind. Pandas are my favourite animals, and i simply love watching kung fu movements, so this alone could have been enough for me to love it to death, but it was simply hilarious(kinda redundant again, i mean, Jack Black?) and the graphics.... omg. Animation movies are getting so much forward, you can so tell. I'd watch it again, but it isn't on anymore, i have to wait for the dvd.

The other one was the Dark Knight- oh, Batman's voice is so manly. Joker was an excellent character, they made him much different than what i remembered from the comics- much cooler, and true to the essence of the guy himself. Ledger made an excellent performance, he's definitely better, at least more interesting for the bad guy than the good one(although he did have the good guy kind of handsome face for that, too). Shame and sad we cannot enjoy this any longer. RIP.

This is all i got to say at the moment, you'll hear from meg again soon. I am the unstoppable death machine. Meanwhile, Tobi will release a book with my journals in it, as each one of them  could be like a short novel (some of them would even make a long one). Watch out for this amazing collection. *JD's voice imitation* It will be in the stores....SOON!!!

i hope you had an awesome christmas and a happy new year so far! :aww:
i've been doing pretty good. I actually don't remember if i wrote about it already in the last journal but my exhibition went very good. it took place between December 18th 2007 and January 7th 2008 in the school hall. The people liked it and i am somewhat famous now :D

maybe i will add some pictures later but i dont feel like it at the moment.

My christmas break was awesome as hell... Tobi came over and we had lots and lots of fun :heart:  we drew, listened to music, travelled, cooked, ate, made gifts for all the peeps together, decorated a christmas tree, recieved even more gifts, watched fireworks, and went shopping (we bought an almost entire mall) :D :dance: :hug:

:snowflake: :santa: :holly: :snowing: :xmas: :snowflake:

he went away at the end of the school break.... i still a bit lonely but thats okay... long time passed since.

other than that.... it isnt really related to this, but despite what i wrote some journals earlier, i think have (at least temporarily) given up on animation studies. i am not really so good. i can draw humans reasonably but thats only because this is what i have been doing in the past 17 years. i suck at anything and everything else. you'd ask me to draw a cat and i'd come up with something of a 6 year old. i need to improve myself until i am really good at a lot of stuff, and also learn a little animation for my own. Until that, i will study english language so there will be at least one language, other than hungarian, that i can speak for real. Until/in case/if temporarily the art job doesnt work, I can still go with translation, that is besides being a good job, would pay quite well. But of course i see myself as an artist at the first place and won't give up on drawing.

Speaking of which. I was at my grandmother's house this weekend, and (as some of my peeps who stuck with me through the years already know) this means new scanned drawings :D :D
I've scanned my drawings for the exhibition and i will upload them very soon unless my internet connection dies a violent death again (it's been pretty suicidal lately). Most of them are pretty recent so you can see how i've evolved.

Just a short entry this time.....

Apparently, we have lost interest in each other with Deviantart..... but i still keep coming back at times, rambling through my messagebox that has finally outgrown me.... the power of old addictions.... i dont know...

Starting over?

Do you think this is possible?
I'm asking you as much as myself....

I am aware it will be never be the same again.... but do you think it is possible to rebuild? the community that was around here once? ....myself?

I think I will clear my message box.... just wash it away.... I'm sorry, I'm sure you all peeps have drawn wonderful things, but.... no, this is just too much to keep up with.

New messagebox, new watchlist, new art..... new journals? maybe, if i have the time.... new friends?
i would prefer the old, if they also prefer me....
New Fel? Maybe. a little bit old, a little bit new.

On a side note: my exhibition is finally booked... 18th of December is the beginning...... whee, special day. I have been actually drawing things lately. After the exhibition i will scan those drawings and post them here too.... and then, i will be officially back.
I think i have improved, but not as much as i wanted. i hope you will like them anyway though.... meanwhile, i need some serious workout.

how strange that i still have these old, long-time-no-use codes in my fingers. reminds me of old, good times..... please help me not to give up.

Please support me. Like me, hate me, comment me, make friends with me, help me.... anyone and anything is welcome.

Thank you.

Hi there everyone!

Its been a long while, hasnt it. Since i seriously got my ass back to Deviantart. About one and a half years? maybe even more :D

There have been many things happening for sure, but i dont think i can write about these things now, maybe they are not even important at all. There's only one thing important: that i eventually stopped whining (for a while at least :D ) and threw myself into drawing again. I feel better now than i did before. And also, i decided to finally upload some shit.... that i have been drawing since.... i know, these are just doodles, but i hope you will like them anyway. And soon i will come up with reasonable artworks too.... they are already on the making. :o

And um... what else could I say. I'm really busy with drawing at the moment, because i'm going to have the first exhibition in my entire life. Its so damn exciting! I think it's due to the end of March or sometime in April.... in the school hall.... I know, its not like THAT serious kind of exhibition.... i'm not going to exhibit in the Louvre or whatever.... but sometimes there are real and serious exhibitions in the school hall too.... and as i think about it, even at the worst more than 800 people is going to see these drawings... i would call that FUCKING serious... :D :D so yay for me :boogie:

Also, there is something else that might be important.... I have eventually unchangeably(wtf are you writing, fel??) decided that I will try to make myself accepted at Moholy-Nagy University of Art of Budapest and take an animation course (or whatever). I have NO idea what they exactly want from me and I dont know how the FUCK am I gonna make it.... but.... i will try to fucking do it, because i just feel like there is no other meaning of my life than drawing these comics.... and i will get accepted and become a world-famed animation movie director or... i will die trying... i have no other option....... nothing....

so all in all i'm very happy :heart:

Just a random thought: Has anyone noticed how fucking popular BellZ has become? pageview by pageview, heart by heart... I have been sort of "watching" him (i have never added him to my watchlist actually, but i'm regularly checking him, every once in a while) since he uploaded that picture of that disturbingly adorable dollguy Vincent, i think that was actually the first step to his DA-fame, and it has been rising ever since. And you know, he fucking deserves it. i love him to bits (well who doesnt?) i have always been so curious, how the hel he gets those wonderful colour tones on his pictures.... and its also a kind of amusing that he doesnt even realize that his painting and his drawings are simply fantastic.... if you havent known him already, but i'm sure you did... but... if you havent then check him now. because it does good to you. BellZ is good for you.

Oh yes, i have an important public announcement. If there is someone who gets my 9,999th or 10,000th pageview, and contacts me too, can have a beautiful picture from me (or at least i will try to make it look nice). Both of the pageviews are worth a picture each, but if there is a person who gets both of them, they will recieve only one prize. It can be about anything that you'd like, you can even choose the tools if you want to. You should really watch out because if someone gets the pageview but doesnt get in contact with me, the closest pageview wins. Yeah well thats about it. Its so exciting for me too, i cant believe i've become so popular and stuff, that i've almost hit the big 10,000. :D

That reminds me, that i have been asked to do some requests and i have given out some prizes already but I think I lost the line somewhere around the 2,222th pageview... I'm honestly sorry, but it's been so long, but I completely forgot about them. If I promised you a drawing, please comment here or note me or whatever and tell me what are you expecting it for (for example which pageview) and what it should be about.

Well thats about it. I dont remember anything else i wanted to say, so i think i will go now and upload those doodles :D :D

A side note: here, check out my newest sexy friend :icondementedsped: who has some really really good stuff :D a lot of them in fact :D

Love you all! :hug:
